Beer Jars

BEER JARS PRODUCED BY ARTEONVA

The Etruscan beer of Birra del Borgo Brewery
Leonardo Di Vincenzo, Teo Musso and Sam Calagione have researched the ancient origins of beer making, recreating a remarkable beer recipe inspired by ancient fermented beverages.

Using ingredients decidedly unusual for beer (hazelnuts, pomegranates, natural resin, honey …) on the basis of archaeological finds, each brewery has chosen a different method of fermentation.

At Borgorose, their beer “L’ Etrusca” has been matured in large terracotta amphorae. The result is a real archaeological find. The opaque amber colour, reminiscent of amphora wines; The nose has hints of honey, red fruit and unusual mineral notes; In the mouth acidity is predominant, and again, honeyed notes are followed by mineral nuances.
