On November 5th, “Le Sbarbatelle” will visit Artenova, Impruneta. The name Sbarbatelle is the name given to young vine shoots with deep roots, a very appropriate name for the association composed of more than 180 young wine producers, all women under 40 years of age, from all over Italy. The visit to the Artenova workshop, which includes wine tasting, is part of the Tuscan experience “Sbarbatelle on tour.” The Tuscan tour will include visits to cellars, wine bars, farms and Michelin-starred restaurants (and our terracotta workshop). 24 of the young producers of the Association are from different regions of Italy. The tour arises from a desire to exchange ideas in order to promote professional growth and solidarity between young women entrepreneurs and the fantastic and varied universe of wine.

It will be a very dynamic morning:
– 10 am: a visit hosted by the brothers Leonardo and Andrea Parisi, owners of Artenova, leaders in Italy in the production of terracotta jars for professional winemaking.
– Wine tasting of Chianti Classico and Amphora wines.
– 1pm: lunch in the Artenova workshop
During the visit, the 24 young producers will be accompanied by Laura Zuddas and Francesco Bartoletti from “Gruppo Matura” who will guide the wine tasting sessions. Francesco Bartoletti is also the technical consultant at Artenova. The first wines to be tasted will be “Tuscan Amphora wines” followed by “Wines from the areas of Chianti Classico”. At 1pm the visit will conclude with lunch in the workshop.

The Association “Le Sbarbatelle”:
First, an event, then a movement, and now an association. The enthusiasm of more than 180 young professional women from the wine industry is configured today, following the inaugural “Sbarbatelle” Event in 2017, which was curated by the AIS delegation from Asti. The event brought together 150 producers under 40 from all over Italy and created a global revolution in the wine industry.
“Sbarbatelle” is also a journey through the lives and experiences of women who testify to the cultural wealth and the exceptional Italian wine heritage. 2024 marks the birth of an association to support young female wine entrepreneurs and their passion and innovation, which they bring to the Italian wine sector and beyond. The Association annually proposes a series of meetings and initiatives to enrich and stimulate the work of its members. In the management of the Association, there are 10 women: 4 young entrepreneurs from Northern Italy, 4 from the Centre, and 2 from the South.
