A wine label with a microchip to expose counterfeits (like the one in the photo) interactive with a smartphone; a patent based on a hollow needle and a capsule of argon gas enabling wine to be poured from a bottle without uncorking it. These were just a few of the innovations presented by Enolitech the International Exhibition of Wine Technology at Vinitaly (Verona, 22 to 25 March 2015).
The pavilion of Enolitech housed 200 exhibitors including many from abroad, particularly from France, Switzerland, United States, Taiwan and Germany. In a showcase, which was a meeting point between producers and specialized operators, you could find the latest trends in the industry for environmental sustainability and efficiency. Technological innovations ranged from machinery for vineyards and olive groves, to furnishings for wine bars and restaurants to working tools designed for the hotel and catering industry, sommeliers and wine lovers.
In the Tuscany pavilion, we visited the stands of Artenova’s wine producing customers: at stand E16, we visited Antonio Arrighi (in photo) of the Agricola Arrighi of PortoAzzurro, Elba, with its wine “Tresse” aged in earthenware jars.
The same stand also housed the association of winemakers “Gruppo Matura” presided by our oenologist and technical consultant, Francesco Bartoletti. Among the many exhibitors in the Tuscany pavilion were Artenova’s customers Tenuta Casadei, from Suvereto, along with numerous wineries and associations providing guided wine tastings for producers and operators in the wine industry.
