Since early this morning about 200 people, including experts, wine lovers and producers of wine in terracotta, are enlivening the old terracotta works Fornace Agresti, Impruneta location of the 1st International Convention “Terracotta and Wine 2014“. The event opened with the conference entitled “Experiences of Winemaking from the around world”. It was presented by Prof. Antonio Tirelli, University of Milan, Prof. Giorgi Barisashvili Agrarian University of Tbilisi (Georgia) and Prof. Christophe Caillaud director of the Gallo Roman Museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal of Vienne (France). The interesting comparison of experiences (old and new) and many interventions by the public, confirm a growing interest in the technique of making wine in terracotta. “Today we have added something important to what we know of this practice” – said Adriano Zago (winemaker and moderator of the conference) “but much remains to be done. Behind the word terracotta there is a world”.
The first of the two guided wine tasting sessions has just commenced meanwhile the free wine tasting is open to the public from wine tasting stalls where Italian and producers from all over the world present their traditions and their wines. Tomorrow, Sunday, the event continues: the wine tasting stalls will be open early morning (10 am).
