This year the grape harvest has ended or is coming to an end for the producers who wait till the last possible day to harvest because the grapes in the vineyard are even better. The grape harvest generally begins in August and ends in October, but some grapes are
harvested as late as November. In Sicily the harvest season can begin as early as July while in Tuscany it takes place generally in September.

While some grapes are still ripening in the vineyard, the wineries of Italy and around the world are preparing to welcome the fruit, result of their hard work throughout the year. In many places in Italy and across the world, where producers have chosen to experiment with amphorae, the Artenova amphorae from Impruneta, will be the “cradle” for the grapes brought to the cellar.
