Another story of courage and perseverance, that of Gregorio, who after meeting with the owners of Al di là del Fiume, left behind a 30-year career as restaurateur in Paris to buy in 2017, a vineyard in the Asti area for the exclusive production of amphora wine. More and more numerous are these renovation projects of old vineyards and farmhouses, ambitious projects by people with varying years of experience behind them, like Amalia andSandro of Cascina Corte in the nearby Langhe, or like Paolo and Lidia of Rocco Carpeneto in Monferrato, who have chosen to refine their precious wines in the jars made by Leonardo Parisi, of Artenova.
The Langhe (a Unesco Heritage), as well as nearby Roero, in an area that extends beyond the Tère Ruse belonging to Gregorio, are areas of ancient vineyards, rich in unique soils that give localwines their particular aromas and fragrances.
It is in the name of the passion for a prized raw
material like the grapes from the vineyards of these regions and the originality of their work in winemaking, that these courageous producers pioneer new experiments such as amphora wineand achieve high quality results.
